– The Aesthetics of Resilience –
Lunaria Rediviva captures the quiet transition between disappearance and rebirth. The photographs of the translucent seedpod membranes of Lunaria rediviva explore the fragility of natural structures, as well as their capacity for endurance, adaptation, and renewal. The work engages with the theme The Aesthetics of Resilience by considering resilience as a subtle yet persistent life force manifested through cyclical processes of transformation. Rather than associating resilience with strength and dominance, the series recognises it in nature’s quiet perseverance—in its ability to preserve the possibility of a new beginning within what appears fragile and transient. In the context of contemporary ecological and social challenges, the work draws attention to the beauty and significance of renewal, vulnerability, and endurance.
